It’s safe to say it ate some steel. This piston and cylinder now Rest In Peace. A new crank, bearings, seals, and top end are on their way.

Both are aftermarket. The big bore cylinder is heavily ported and has ten or more years of run time. I threw it in the scrap pile and will be starting over with a different port scheme on a 50mm cylinder.

Did it lose a wrist pin clip? I see the one is still in there. I’d cut those ears off and put the gap at 12:00

Wasn’t a clip. An odd set of circumstances led to a small end bearing roller falling out of the bearing. The issue wasn’t caught until the ticking became too consistent to ignore.

I put timken 6202 bearings in this saw. I had them in storage from a good deal I picked up online a few years back.

I don’t have a strong preference regarding outer crank bearings.
