Just one thing , I take it your saw is after 1992 due to the de comp and the pic enclosed is for saws after that dateScreen Shot 2016-08-08 at 22.52.08.png . Have not seen the big clutch spacer washer in your pics ? have you got it as the end float on the sprocket will be a lot without it.

Do u mean part #503 52 12-02 in the above pic? If so then yes I have it. I'll post a pic of the serial number plate though nothing will match. Tank, case, cylinder, clutch cover are all each from different saws.

Yup.. thats what i was getting at. Early ones seem to have a small washer rather than the big disk.

Ok. I'll post pics of everything from the clutch to oil pump tomorrow just in case I missed something. I spent a lot of time looking at parts diagrams but that doesn't mean everything is right haha

it is normal to be able to just put the spring on by hand. Not real tight like on other clutches.

The band spring sort like you have on the 262 are not hard work to put together at all I find . The hole lot shouldn't be real sloppy once its together or you get drag ...some spring pressure is needed but you wont be fighting to put the clutch together with your hands. IMO

the only concern about that clutch is if the chain engages at too low an rpm... so if the idle is nice, but the chain is spinning, you know you have an issue

Yeah, it was hard to notice before because I didnt have bar and chain on. I will say the spring is very stiff and I cant stretch it by hand very easily.

Got the rivets out of the old tip. What a pain in the ass. Any advice on the best way to flatten the new rivets?

I swapped the oil pump for a spare I had so we will see if it still leaks. I have a feeling that the oil line from the tank is not sealing properly

I use the flat end of a drift ... about 1/4" diameter.

If you don't have 501 62 43 from the diagram or an o-ring has been subbed in, that'll cause a leak too.

Ok thanks, its hard getting the bar in a spot where I can hit the rivets good, while keeping the bar still without damaging anything lol. I do have that o-ring.

Not yet lol

Got the tip on. I'm still not happy with how the chain fits the sprocket. Must be a GB thing cause it's been that way on a few I've had. It's gonna be parked for a bit before I can run i. I have a more important project I need to do but I wanted the b and c on first. I'll update once i get it tuned and see if it still leaks bar oil.

Thanks! This has been a fun project. I used a combo of heat gun, sanding and pliers to fix the melting/warping of the cylinder cover. It's not perfect but looks a lot better now. I also updated clutch drum and oiler worm gear to the newer style so it won't oil while idling.
Do you have the part numbers for the clutch drum and worm gear? I have a 1990 and might want to change that out as well. Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken they should be in the parts diagram pictured at the top of this page. If not check ereplacementparts or parts tree websites. I got mine on ebay. Mine phone is about to die otherwise I would help more lol

welcome to OPE :D

I've only seen one style crank to 262, if there isnt anything I've missed you can study IPL's from the 96 model.

Parts tree have updated their website, there is a few errors there nowadays.
https://www.partstree.com/parts/hus...2-husqvarna-chainsaw-1994-06/oil-pump-clutch/
https://www.partstree.com/parts/hus...2-husqvarna-chainsaw-1996-01/oil-pump-clutch/
If we do study those two for 325, we see that worm gear #
503557801 is the same on them.
Clutch drum 1994 #503646601 has been updated to #503646604
Study year 1996 you'll see that those two numbers match
