I have (had) a complete 40 Practica (not the newer Partner based 40/45) and an incomplete 140s where, among other things, the clutch is missing along with that end of the crank.
I decided to sacrifice the 40 to complete the 140s but really would like to have both up and running.
The 140s seems somewhat of an oddball but some stuff crosses over from other models in the family like 340, 344, 444, not sure about the cranks though.

So at minimum I need to find a crank and clutch cover. Also a decent top cover would be a +.

Bill, were you able to find seals for these projects?

If you're referring to the integrated seal proprietary 12mm wide bearing on the pto side then no but unlike the 40, the 140s uses the standard 10mm 6201 on both sides.
The pto bearing I pulled out had seals on both sides but I don't think they were supposed to be there.

I've found that the small 036 seal fits both sides on the 140s.

By the ipl's it looks like the 240s is pretty much the same as the 140s, not sure if the 240se/sg crank continued to have the points cam. Someone got rid of the points on my 140 and added a module so wouldn't matter anyway.

I have a 240s ignition if you end up using a 240s crank.
