    Oregon 76 chain?

Since I've been messing around with chains lately more than saws. I found this chain in my stuff that I bought form a guy who added a new Windsor bar and a Poulan brand chain spare for his 3400 back in the 80's. Neither had been used. The chain was in a sealed bag. I must have used it a bit...

Oregon 34 LG .325 chain opinions

I just bought a saw with 34 LG (LP .325?). The chain is in decent shape but badly filed. I see Oregon recommends a 4.5 mm file which I don't have and will likely be a pain to find. Anyone that used or uses this chain have an opinion if it's any good? Thanks

    Interesting change in Carlton chain

I was talking with a guy at Laser Sales head office today and Oregon started moving all of the Carlton chain manufacturing starting two years ago. They've been slowly moving the tooling over to China. Oregon is still making all of their brand chain in the US except for LP chain which is now made...

    Walbro HDC-44 carb question.

Here's a pic of an HDC44 carb with what appears to be a vent with a screen over it. It doesn't seem to go anywhere as it directly in the path of the throttle rod and doesn't pass air either way. I've seen it on other carbs and was wondering if anyone knows what it's for?

    Oregon 59 .404 chain

I bought a loop of Oregon 59L .404 chisel chain and it looks weird. A 3/16" file fits in the chain profile on some of the cutters and seems to be in between a 3/16 and a 7/32 file on others. I wonder if the cutters missed a step or something.

    Shorter piston skirt effect

I have a stock Partner 5000+ That could use a new piston. The cylinder is closed port. They are difficult to find so I bought a Husky 44mm 246 Meteor piston. I knew I would have to open up the gap between the wrist pin bosses to suit the wider rod end on the Partner. All dimensions on the 246...

    Carb to adapter gasket tip

A little tip I've found helpful. Some of the carbs have to be jockeyed around a bit, especially on the older saws, to get them in place to bolt them down. I'v often had issues with the gasket falling off. Now I wrap a small elastic band around the carb and the gasket, start the bolts, pull the...

    Lapua

I was looking for the proper way to pronounce Lapua and found they had a few vids. You have to have access to a face book account to see them I think https://www.facebook.com/LapuaAmmunition/
