    WANTED Stihl 036 Crank

I just had a crank failure in a low hour rebuild. Built it up from some rough parts… must have missed the big end having pitting or something. Stopped and locked while running. So, yah- I’m looking for an 1125 crankshaft. I have cash or parts to trade (026 handles, 1121 new style NOS air...

SOLD Husky 359- scored, missing parts?

I picked up a toasted 359 from a dealer’s pile a while ago. I wanted the coil as a spare for my 372s. I haven’t dug into it much. The saw is mostly complete but has a scored piston. The crank seems tight. Has a recoil, muffler, carb, plastics… basically everything except the coil and the...

    064 cylinder “ported”- paperweight?

I don’t port saws. I run them, fix ‘em, and run them some more. I got this 064 cylinder on eBay thinking it’d be a spare. But... found this when I opened it today- Exhaust port area Transfers? Looks like someone opened up the cylinder bolt holes as well. Maybe to put on an 066/660 case...

    Aftermarket AV buffers

AM buffers for Stihl— we have had multiple failures with moderate use. Add those to the ever-increasing “hell no” list regarding aftermarket parts for saws. 1122, 1125, 1128, 1119... just use oem. If you’ve already put some of these in work saws, pull them sooner rather than later (trust me).

    Stihl 038- tank options

Finally back at saws. Got an 038 in with a cracked tank. Bought an AM one from eBay only to find it leaking at the seam. It had a flippy cap and would not accept an oem air filter. Ms380 style? “Meco” brand. I see others from Farmertec with a screw cap. For those of you that have used...

    Cobbled mini atv clutch issue

My buddy grabbed a cheapo atv with problems. Someone chopped up the frame and put in Briggs 5.5 ohv. It runs (thanks to carb rebuild, oil change, valve adjustment) but the clutch is fried. It’s a keyway clutch shaft (not a spline) that is 14mm at the end. The original clutch shoes/pads are...

    Beware- AM ms660 muffler issue

Watch out for AM Farmertec/Huztl 660 mufflers with baffles still in. I didn’t mod this one other than a 3/8” hole drilled well below the baffle plate itself. I heard it rattling around while fueling up. I’d say remove this part or remove the baffle completely. It shouldn’t be an issue in 1128...

Not complete, scored for sure. Missing bar studs and other clutch side parts. Turns over but has no compression. Flywheel may have rub marks so possibly bearings shot. I just have no interest and no time. Shipping would be from 14527... I dunno, $25 plus shipping? Open to offers. It’s...

Dolmar 6400 BB spun crank & other problems

Problematic Dolmar with 3yrs average run time on an AM big bore kit. Wouldn't idle, carb wouldn't tune/- piston had excessive wear but no scoring. Stripped it down and found this: "Spun" crank, flywheel side. Slip fit into both old and new bearing. Had a noticeable rock with flywheel off.

    Surface rust-- rims, clutches, drums

Thoughts on selling/running items with surface rust? A few of a parts lot I just grabbed must have been exposed to moisture. Some are great, others are rusty crusty. Mainly clutch drums and rim sprockets.

    Farmertec 290/390 cylinder bolts

As has been mentioned here and elsewhere, the Huztl/Farmertec cylinder threads and bolts are different from OEM stihl. They're also hex, not Torx. (T27 for Stihl's). My last two 1127s I used the Farmertec screws except for one hole that I slowly worked an OEM screw in. So... what's right? Buy...
