My hat's off to you guys that can work in those temperatures. If it's below 40F, I see nothing but the inside of my house.

    Assembling Case Halves

Well...I tried it. Sorry no photos or video. There are pluses and minuses. I started with the PTO side. The bearing and seal were already installed (this was one of the Huztl kits). I heated the case with the heat gun to somewhere around 140F (guessing, I could still handle it for a second...

    Assembling Case Halves

When assembling case halves, I see that many people use a heat gun or oven to heat the case and they will put the crank in the freezer to reduce the fit for ease of assembly. I want to try to keep the entire process on my bench so I will not have to walk to oven, freezer, etc... since my oven...

    Hustler Mowers

I've watched some of those videos, and I think I can work around the problems using the modifications they recommend. I am a homeowner who has to mow 10 acres once every 2 weeks and I can't justify the price of a commercial unit. I have machines to make whatever I need to repair and modify...

Anyone out there using a Hustler ZTR. I'm looking at the SD, and I'm liking what I'm seeing. Anyone care to toss in a recommendation or a warning?

    Chains for milling

Mill with the chain just the way it is out of the box. When it gets dull, sharpen to 25 degrees and mill. When it gets dull, sharpen to 20 degrees...etc. You get more out of the chain that way. Your first boards will be a little rough but not too bad, will get better the further down you...

    Stihl 076av rebuild

Do you have the decomp hole plugged? Another thing, could you check the outside diameter of the worm gear for wear grooves where it contacts the seal? I think this could be a problem on mine.

    075 Decomp Valve Substitute

I got over 180PSI on my 075, and I need my decomp cause I'm a weenie. The mounting hole is offset from the cylinder, so I don't have to worry about clearance issues with the piston. I ordered a genuine OEM valve, but I find that it doesn't reseat well and can be leaky. Is there one that can...

    Stihl 076av rebuild

I have an 075 with that exact same gremlin. When you find it, you will probably save me a world of trouble. BTW, I can't tell you how many times I inspected, reinspected, pressure tested, and changed the worm gear seal because I am/was certain that it was the problem.
