I am to impatient to wait. Plus I really wanted to use the saw on next week camping trip with the family. But being impatient just means twice the work if it doesn’t fix it. Do it right the first time. All good things to say and do. But then there is it should be fine. Thanks for all the help...
I am not the most organized person. I try but I have the entire thing put back together. But I am missing two screws. A standard plastic housing screw and the screw that holds the chain adjustment plate on. Small flat head. I will search tomorrow and then fill it up and then fire it up. Very...
Oh I agree. I put it on the bar oil location only. I called around for crank case type sealant and it wasn’t available. I live on an island in Alaska. I wish I would have thought about it when I ordered all the parts but hey. If it does leak I will have a lot of experience. Hahahaha. Thanks all.
Rebuilding my 038 magnum ii and I am getting ready to start. Pressed in the seals and installed the bearings. I am getting ready to put the two halves together and have a new crank case gasket. Is there anything that I put on the gasket. A gasket sealer, lube or anything?
Great idea. I am going to toss it in the freezer tomorrow morning then give it a shot. Thanks for the reminder. This is definitely something I have done in the past. Works great.
I am aware of this. I hope i didn’t make it sound like I thought the two systems were linked. I just assumed there was multiple things wrong with my saw. I am a firm believer my oil pump didn’t work and it wasn’t getting any oil into the system so but a bad worm gear but all the oil and build up...
Thank you for this. I definitely think that the oil pump was bad on mine as well but still decided to go with a full rebuild. I will keep you up dated with what happens. Going to build a crankcase splitter this week.
I am in the process of a full rebuild on it. Surprising enough this machine looks amazing clean everywhere but under the clutch. So I am hoping it will be the crankcase seal. I will find out more after I figure out a way to split the case. Thank you. For checking in.
Alright all. I have had a day. It has taken me a better part of today(with kids under my feet 2-4 year old) to rip apart my 038 magnum ii. I am now finally down to splitting the crank case and can’t figure it out. I have the crank case completely bare on the outsides. Flywheel is off and the...
Explain please. What tools are required. Drilling a hole and adding a screen? What’s really too it. Seems like an open port. I have the mechanical ability.
i replaced my muffler on my 038 magnum ii. The original one on it was a dual port. I purchased a dual port replacement but received a single right port muffler. Will this work??? Or do I have to return and keep searching. I hear mufflers are hard to find. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks...
To clarify. I was just say I am not sure how the bar gets oiled. So not sure where the port is for living the bar and chain. I removed the sprocket and cover and that entire area was saturated dripping in dark colored burn like oil. Not sure where it’s coming from yet bc I haven’t gone further...
