Picture window and some drilled holes in cover to cool the cylinder by letting hot exhaust out

Just messing around in the shop, although after putting this face plate on, the saw idles down way better kind of interesting I haven't put in the wood yet I will today

So.... less exhaust opening allows the saw to idle better?
Maybe we need to experiment on a spring loaded opening. More exhaust pressure created at WOT could open an exhaust port allowing for more exhaust.
At idle, spring keeps extra port closed allowing for better idle...[emoji848]

I started on the 5100 muffler last night. Had to weigh it before I started. 15 5/8 ounces!

i got a ancient one doesn't say computer managed on it though.
high pitched and annoying might gut the muffler.
i like the scabbards stihl sells
