I've seen enough spur sprocket failures from not replacing them when they should be, but I haven't seen rim failures.

Show me some rims that wore to the breaking point.
A pic was posted a while ago of one split in two if I remember correctly.

The next time you're feeling a bit racist, try to remember that your DNA is at least 99.9% identical to that poor ginger you just made fun of, even if you are dark skinned.

Don't get too cocky about DNA if you're a human reading this, tho. Humans have 3.2 billion base pairs in their genome - 99% similar to a Chimpanzee, 99.5% similar to the Neanderthal DNA we've sequenced so far. The Norway Spruce has 20 billion base pairs (about 16 billion bp's for Douglas Firs for my friends from the PNW). You don't have to be a scientist to guess who has been around this place and spreading their genes and mutating for longer. And most conifers aren't particularly frisky compared to primates. And we never see Norway Spruces put up signs that say 'No Dogs, No Irish, No Douglas Firs'.

I was born and raised in the Air Force. Dad was a Senior Master Sergeant. We knew 3 colors/classes of people. Enlisted, NCOs, and Officers. There were separate clubs, pools, mess halls, etc. It wasn’t until my father retired and I found myself in public school in El Paso Texas that I was exposed to racism; and it was coming at ME. It took me quite some time to come to grips with the fact that the majority of an entire race hated ME for the color of my skin. It was a powerful lesson and I tried to make sure I passed what I experienced on to my kids.

But the funniest part is after my wife was commissioned into a uniformed service as an officer I was always freaked the hell out when we went into the officers club. That class distinction I learned in the Air Force stuck to me like glue. I KNEW I wasn’t supposed to be in the O Club...
