Did you bother to send Steve or Scott a message?
I dug up some info that Scott posted the older vents tend to clog up with sawdust. The newer style is supposedly better with this because the sintered material doesn’t let sawdust through.

But the number of loggers with Husky is tellin’
I never understood why dolkita didn’t catch on as well. I think it has to do with dealer support not the actual product. I order all my husky parts online anyway... because all the local dealers are incompetent and I get the parts faster. So it doesn’t matter either way for me.

I get everything from Germany, shipping takes three to five days depending whether it includes the weekend.

Local to me dealers are nonexistent, local to Croatia dealers charge up to twice the German price and barely ever have anything in stock and need to order from Germany themselves.

I don't need local dealer's and I have enough saws so I don't have to worry if one happens to break down - which hasn't happened yet!

I told a fellow member
"Dolmar's don't break down unless they get mistreated"
He is skeptical about that.

My two 73's were in bad condition when I got them, all damage and wear was caused by ham fisted user operation.
My PS-7900 was pristine when I got her and she still is.

Good thread Mason.
My 7900 makita air filtration sucks worse than anything I've seen. Greased around the filter base and still passes fines. It's about to get retired till I find a vstack setup
Mine is getting a 372 type filter for milling the dead Locust. I'm gona test this saw well. Need to fab up a spring bail.
Only time you gotta worry bout filtration is if you’re bathing a saw in wood chips..
Like milling..
Even then, 090 guys ingest more sawdust than any 7900..

Like way more.. filters really are overrated..

Lol.
Probably are overrated with Nikasil plated jugs and good bearings. I'm not going to chance it milling dead white oak and dead locust. Bad stuff in that wood like sand and mineral deposits that tear stuff up.
No matter how sharp you chains are if your cutting red oak and hickey that are dry you are gonna get fines period
Not with a good filter. Been there done that. Just spray it with some filter oil on the mesh and use white. WD40 works in a pinch.

They stole that from Stihl imo. It works well to also filter liquids.

Just buy your common replacement parts in advance and most problems are covered. Two saws of the same parts family can avoid wasting some days or at least get back going right quick. Been there done that.
