No matter how sharp you chains are if your cutting red oak and hickey that are dry you are gonna get fines period
Maybe we are looking at this from the wrong angle, the btu rating of the fines would be similar to an octane boost! I would think the fines would be good for at least a 0.0059% boost in hp! Lol

That been said I recommend to interested parties that if You can still get them do so!

The updated part number is 957 114 061 and that is the new vent version.
Which you have to modify like I did to fit new tank. Kind of a pain.

Regarding fines and these saws AF options, I have all except the HD and I cut beech, oak,turkey oak, locust and whatnot - I don't get fines passing into the carb within a tank or two of work.

Air filtration issues and the claim of insufficient oil delivery keep me thinking "WTF are You guys talking about!" , but I admit it - WTF do I know anyways.
I'm just telling yall what I'm finding in my saw. Not what I've read or in others saws.
