So the upcoming new 462 will have to contend with the available 461, 372xp, 576xp, 7910. Missing anything? And the unavailable but highly touted 572xp.

Depending on how all this shakes out will determine if you buy the existing menu of available good saws or prepare for the 462 and 572.

Kinda make's one sad because it looks like we are going to get one 70cc saw after these two models hit the market. For year's we have had two options. 372-576, 441-461, 7300-7900. I liked changing them up every once in a while.

I'd rather they just get it right. The power of a 460/461 with weight close to a 362 C (Ver I)!!!

If it has good torque, I will call that a win! The Husky better be darn strong, cause I understand it is more than a pound heavier!

If Redbull thought that 7/8 hole was good for the 661 then 3/4 should be about right for this fella.
Would be interesting to see the rest of Steph's mods.

It's weird, but for the last few years I saw the new Stihl saws as heavy asthmatic pigs, but reliable and bullet-proff (except for the MT issues, we had a lot of issues with these carbs around here). And the last Husky's are angry little beasts, but not rock solid like some Stihls.

Now with the new versions of the 261/362, it's another story. These 2 looks like children's toys for me. My coworker's 362CM V2 seems flimsy with cheap plastic everywhere, my 562xp with his real clutch cover and his metal handlebar is more a "real professionnal saw".

And for these new models, I really hope this 462 will be solid, because if the 572 is obviously heavyer, she also looks much more solid with these metal inserts and these giants bearings and crankshaft.

Time will tell which way is the best, but I'm actually interested by both saws.

Actually the Stihl MS462C is the same weight as the Husqvarna 562XP.

I don't like to go by Mfg published info, it often changes and is inaccurate. On the scale, I think the 562 is close to 13 lbs (they now list it as 13.2, but used to list it as 12.8), and the 462 is really 13.2 on the scale (or very close).
