I use a red97 deflector on top or make my own even bigger. You can still run screen that way. It allows 1x1.5" opening or so.

Yes. Welded down. You can use stock screen that way. Or make the opening bigger and use a different screen.

Any rule of thumb on the muffler opening % compared to the exhaust port window dimension?

They say 80% with no screen. I just go as big as the deflector will allow. Almost as much area as the stock one and another 266 deflector.

The RWJ is the xtorq carb. It works fine. I have one of those as well. I'll try to play around with a few of them this week if it stays dry.

The RWJ-4 has a 19.05mm venturi, vs. the 17.5mm of the original HD-12.

Anybody case match these? Widen the tranafers, exhaust, or intake? 70%, 80%?

I case matched the transfers raised the lowers by about half and widened the exhaust about a 1/4" on each side. Also matched the exhaust. I just cleaned up the intake but I think I might take it back apart and square it. My saw runs very strong. The one thing I didn't do that Bob suggests in his video is trim the intake side of the piston. I may try that as well.

What were u thinkin of trimming the skirt to?

I blend the lowers and case match them. Widen the exhaust a little bit depending on how much its raised. You can lower the intake floor of you don't plan on machine work.

Is machine work necessary? With a gasket delete how low will the ex. Fall? How much psi with a gasket delete
