I recently acquired a 2007 Husqvarna 372xp. Is this the model that ports well? Advantages , disadvantages? Looking for porting ideas that has worked out best for folks and ill probably wanna port for a 24 to 28" bar. Best bar length chain combination , best carb for it? Thanks guys. It will be wearing a pro safety full wrap bar that hadnt made it here yet. Spikes? Pro safety 4 pt or 5 pt or magnum oem?20160124_060237.jpg20160124_060227.jpg

Im not sure which carb this 2007 has? Does it need a 372 xtorq carb or the Tilly 360?

Which carb is on it the HD12? I'm going to play with a modded 7900 carb on my 365 when I put it together. It was too much fuel for a stock one for sure. Couldn't get to top rpm without feathering it. The xtorq carb would be fine. The HL360 is a 1" bore about the size of a 084 carb.

I have a set of the pro safety 5 pt. Dawgs that I picked up for a song. They are just ridiculous but they are cool looking. I like the OEM large version a lot better. I did a variation of the spike special on my 371 and it runs strong. Look up the saw college videos on YouTube. Lots of good info there.

If you cut the bottom one off the 5 point they're ok. I like the 4 point ones since the top spike is out further.

Mike I have always liked the 4pt pro safety spikes after u recommended them to me. I ran them on my hybrid and really liked them. I think ill like the pro safety full wrap better than the oem full wrap. John and I have another oem full wrap in the shop but the pro safety seems much beefier?

It's not bad with the bigger tubing. It's less tiring to hold on to the pro safety for hours.

Mike what about the muffler mods? Do u enlarge the top deflector opening? I saw on the xpw John had that u added a deflector on the right side. Anything different to date?

I use a red97 deflector on top or make my own even bigger. You can still run screen that way. It allows 1x1.5" opening or so.
