Unloaded locust from yesterday. 7'x 5.5'x 16". First trip is 12"x5'x16" so I'm thinking it will split out to a cord so far and hoping to another 3/4 cord remaining. Nice little honey hole, other than being in a backyard.

Went back for load 3 of the HL. Used the electric wheelbarrow made getting wood from the hillside a little easier. This does take care of the larger logs some everything should be 12" and under, just wish the temps would give me a break, 90's for the next week or more. With any luck I can knock it out next weekend.20230723_111451.jpg

Tree guy called to say he was taking down a silver maple and I should come by to get it. At the time I was unloading my 3rd load of locust and I knew weather was coming so I texted him this radar shot.WeatherBug.jpg

Gave Edwin @Wood Doctor a call and he was getting ready to head over for a load. Decided to meet him and helped load his truck.Wood Dr load.jpg

When they got back from unloading a load they had he loaded me up.Skidstear 2.jpgLoad back.jpgLoad side.jpg
Hope to get out in the morning to get it cut to length and maybe split. Plus the most rain we had to deal with was sprinkles.

Thanks Edwin

That weather map looked brutal, but all we got were some droplets and no wind at all. By the time it got across the river it had weakened to almost nothing.

You are welcome, Stephie, and we got an awfully nice collection and saved it from the Vemeer chipper/shredder. This same tree removal crew provided me with 2 truckloads of hackberry last week, but I have no Pics. It's all good stock from a monster tree that was 60 years old.

That hackberry bark is rough as could be. No wonder that the deer like to clean their antlers with it. My gloves are now holey gloves.

All cut up and off the truck. At 12:30 phone said partly cloudy, I guess, but not much for clouds so sun packed a punch and shut me down at 2:30. Did get some split before calling it a day.

Load 4 back.jpgIt's a wrap on the locust. Unload tomorrow and get back to other drier wood that is a priority on getting split and stacked.

I also processed firewood today at another location near I Saw a Lot.. My solution was to start at 7:00 am (65 F) and finish at 10:00 am (77 F) just before the heat and humidity came rolling in. Cut and split two truckloads of dry ash and Maple. Not bad and ready to burn. No pics because I was too tired after that to take any snapshots. Please forgive me.
