My cut pile this year so far. Adding 2 nice standing dead black locusts to the pile today. That pile has ine dead ash, a big dead maple, a big mulberry, a big locust, and some various little stuff. Lots of good btu. It's 1° out.....but fairly calm. Should be a good cutting day.

Do you live amongst those wind turbines?

Have you ever got drunk and tried to cut one down?

I do....right in the middle of a 100 turbine farm.....and I haven't been that drunk yet!!!

Nice mixture, bud! I like cutting in that kind of weather......especially the little to no wind.

Another shot of the hoard after today's cutting. We took two nice black locust trees.....both big enough we had to split the trunk pieces on site to handle them. It was a long day and I'm a whipped dog, but the pile definitely grew significantly. This will be my first time to get ahead a couple of years as I should be. The splitter gets a good workout this spring!

Here's ~39 cord of my stash. I have 7 more cord stacked elsewhere and another 8 cord or so in a pile waiting to be split/stacked this spring....I'm still adding to that pile though.

I started stacking here in the spring of 2014, so I've processed ~39 cord in less than two years. Just me, two Tree Monkey ported saws, an ATV w/ trailer and a Speeco wood splitter.

Won't be starting to burn any of this until sometime during the 2017-2018 heating season.

Here's the 16 cord I cut last winter and split/stacked this past spring. That pile measured 30'x27' and had a height of ~7' across the top. The base measured 90' in circumference at the ground.

Here it is after I finished up stacking that pile pictured above.
