The ochsenkopf splitting Axes of varying weight are what I primarily use up north here.

I do have a fiskars "beater" as a loaner or back-up.

I have no electricity or heating oil. I split wood by hand and have never used a wood splitter.

This is my 10 year anniversary of heating soley with wood split with an ax. We have below zero weather from October to April.

Anyhow, this isn't just some sort of hobby, it's my way of life and ive been very impressed with the ochsenkopf splitting axes.

Awesome news for me. I ordered the one without overstrike protection. Figure I can add the paracord and epoxy one if needed. I have a small black cherry to buck and split for a friend. Will be a fine break in for it
