Will the bar from an MS251 fit an MS261

Just wondering if a Stihl 251 bar will swap over to a 261.

Likely not. Chain pitch is not even the same: 251 wants .325" pitch and most 261 pitch is 3/8". Bars are not the same either.

261 in Ireland nearly always come with .325, my fathers 251 is .325 also, not sure about the bar ends though.

The short answer is no.
251 uses 3005 mount bars
261 uses 3003 mount bars.

That makes it clear. Was hoping to get a 261 with a shorter bar and put that onto the
251 and use the 251 18" bar on the 261, not going to happen then.
