When a chain running at one constant speed uses different size sprocket tips it only makes the different sized sprockets have more or less revolutions per one turn by the drive chain sprocket. This will not increase or decrease the speed of the chain in any way as its only controlled by the one direct drive sprocket with no gearing capabilities. The sprocket tip controls nothing other than letting the chain turn around the bar with as little interference friction as possible...hence the need for the highest quality bearing designs offered.

Are you sure? I've seen plenty of videos where it's stupid obvious that a narrow bar tip has more torque.

the crack? I don't know, now I'm confused. I think youre twisting my words in an attempt to defame my character. I'm gonna get a carving bar and cut the *s-word out of my pocket door. whats this thread about?
So basically you're pocket door curious. That's OK. We don't judge.

What is obvious to you may not be seen the same by others.
I'm only describing the relationship between the drive sprocket and the bar sprocket which is not a gear reduction or increase for the chain. I also believe I mentioned that bar tip technology is its own thing giving some bars faster cutting speed over other bars which may give you the impression there is more torque when it is merely less resistance from a better or cleaner bearing.

Anyone else's sarcasm meter pegging out so much the last couple days that you don't even bother checking it?

Christmas is coming. It brings out the worst in many of us.

You might not realize it, but @thomas1 is in retail sales. He gets really *b-wordy during the holidays.

Worst? Nah. This is some of the best reading fodder since The Other Swap Meet
