I
I wouldn't buy another 562 either if that happened to me. But there are thousands of 562s' out there running fine.
The amount of issues on AS and OPE was small and even smaller outside the forums. And thousands that had/have issues.
How much is a new 562?The 562s may have their issues, but they are becoming more and more popular with the pro loggers here in hardwood country. They buy one of these saws knowing it's only gonna last about a year of full time use, doing work that was formerly done by a much bigger, more expensive 390 or 395.
Yes, they usually do, but after a year of use the plastics, handles, and other external stuff is so deteriorated that they want a new saw anyway! It seems like saws have a higher mortality rate when being used by hourly laborers also.
This 372 was carried out the door barely a month ago.

Stalling, bogging, bearing/and seal failures, air leaks(transfer cover orings pinched/ripped, from the factory and more on new or almost new saws. Numerous carb and coil revisions. They are a very nice running saw when you get a good one. Not knocking them, but you can not ignore the issues. Some here try to give the impression it is only a very small percent that have these issues.
MSRP for a 562 with 20" bar is $740, as opposed to 1100 for the 390, and 1250 for the 395.
Thousands have had issues? Really?!And thousands that had/have issues.
My 562 is almost 5 years old with no issues? Must not be using it enough? There are many other factors to consider also, such as extra productivity with the 562's fuel economy, and the fact that most customers get far more than a year of service from them.
