White Ash noodles and chips for garden mulch

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but does anyone use chainsaw chips and noodles for garden mulch?

I have quite bunch of noodles from three year old dead white ash.

I haven't but have seen others who have here. They only thing the pointed out was using a food grade oil as bar oil.

I'll give it a try on a plant that's likely going to get taken out and see what happens.

We are in a bad drought here. I'm hoping some cover might help hold moisture in a little better than nothing.

Funny I was just looking at my ash noodles thinking how good it would be for chicken bedding.
