Which 20” light bar?

I stopped by another dealer today that told me the es light wasn’t made in 20 lol, anyone have the part number? I’m going to check one more place tomorrow and if no luck I’ll order the sugi.

I run 0.050 gauge in 3/8" as it was easier to find in non-OEM bars (Sugihara, Tsumura, Cannon). Once I started accumulating bars, I just stuck with that gauge. Some guys like the 0.063 as they say it is supposed to oil better but I haven't had any issues in 0.050 out to 32".

All of my 0.325" chain is 0.063" as that is the only gauge 0.325" I can find around here (Oklahoma/Texas/Arkansas).

Bottom line, I would pick the gauge based on what is readily available at your local dealers.

I guess also they’re a little behind on adding the newer models to bar stickers. I see the pdf is from 2018. It doesn’t list the ms271, just the 270 and 280. I imagine the 271 is the same? A buddy of mine has one of those, it would be cool if that same 20” bar for my 462 would fit his too.

Yes, the MS271 is a 3003 bar mount as well so any bar in that mount will fit. On models you don't see listed at the top of the page, look at the small orange box on the left margin (the writing is vertical).

Struck out at the 3rd and final local dealer as far as in stock. He said he could order it and it was $120. Is the cost worth the price over the sugi? The sugi ends up being about $103 with shipping.

On the plus side he actually had the 500i. First one I’ve seen and held. It had a 36” light bar on it, pretty neat.

Alright, I ordered the 20” sugi from HL, I’ll pick up the 20” rs chain locally. I also spoke to my dealer about swapping the 28” es for the 28” es light. Should be good to go now!
