Can you find a piston with a taller crown height so you can bump compression. Maybe even weld a popup, I'm no expert on port numbers but just having more compression should give you more grunt.

There's one good option. Find a replacement cylinder in case you mess up one grinding on it.

Are you going to keep using this motor on a mower? If so, I wouldn't bump up the power too much. When you hit a rock or a dirt mound, it can destroy the engine faster.

It's just a push mower, I would say it's just for fun anyway. Shoot put a mini turbo and run it off alchohol

I will mod just bout anything. Weed woppers Briggs and Stratton skis sleds leaf blowers you name it I will do it. Hell even my snowblower is modded and so far I'm very pleased with all I've done. Now if anything I'd mess with the governor to get some more revs. Be careful as most mowers can't handle many over stock and I've made some milled heads on Briggs that were stupid powerful on a vertical shaft but lived a very short life and wopped out the cases from the comp bump.

Good idea. Rpms are like 3200 max. They are fairly strong stock if sound and set up correctly. Some claim to see improvement by lapping the reed seats.

i replaced the reeds with carbon fiber they seem to run better and don't spit back out of the carbs.
