What is a smurf saw?

I have no idea and google didn't solve it. Seems associated with Makita? Whatever, why is it called that?

Makita sold Dolmar saws with blue plastic. Smurfs are blue, the saws were blue. Smurf saw. Now they sell Dolmar saws but leave them orange and put Makita on the stickers.

I believe that was a red ale of some sort.
