What did I do wong

My 044 I just rebuilt decided to let the chain run wild . Here is what I found. These are aftermarket springs I think but can't remember. Have you guys ever had this happen?

i couldnt see the first picture but the second one is working good dont think you did anything wrong just maybe poor quality parts

That's what I was thinkin. I guess oem for me now

I think your problem is. You used two springs with only one hook on them.

All three of them need to have two hooks on'em......

Maybe at your napa but round here it would be a waste of time. I think I'd just order up what belongs in there I believe it's doable to find a spring elsewhere that you could make work but for the cost I'd just get new

I had the exact same thing happen to a MS361, put Stihl springs on and problem went away. Sadly they did not really cost much if any more than the after market ones from China. Just another lesson for me.

Here's the picture of the broken AM springs next to the new Stihl ones. Think I did a similar thread when this happened. The AM springs did last a whole day though!
