vent hose

can someone please tell me where the hose in the picture that im holding is supposed to connect to underneath. i can see where it goes through the mounting plate but cannot see anything on the tank that it hooks too. i have looked at IPLs for this saw nad 390xp since they are the same saw and looked in the service manuals. the saw is jonsered cs2188

You need to pull down your fuel tank and it connects to vent nipple on tank, then runs through hole in carb mounting plate, then connect to that nipple at back of carb. Connects to number 9 elbow, some tanks just have a white nipple vent.

I have taken the tank off completely looking for a place to connect it. i wondered about that by looking at the pictures. the nipple is missing from my saw which is what i thought but none the pictures show it clearly hooking to there.. thank you
