Velocity stack for 088??

Anyone know a source for a velocity stack for an 088 stihl???


Been doing some milling and the hd2 filter gets plugged up too quickly. I am going to get a max flow if I can't find a stack.

The one I put on my 066 came from ebay and was made to suit walbro carbs used on 1/5 scale remote control cars.

The hole in the middle got taken out to size on a mates lathe and I bolted on a K&N with an outerware cover.

I have used it for days in dusty hardwood and its still clean under the cover.
The old HD2 would have blocked up 6 times by now.

The only other issue I struck with these is that the groves over the mount holes are not big enough to fit an 8mm socket in for the carb mounting nuts and had to be milled out and lowered.
I think they are set up for screws, not nuts and a socket

I will be wanting one made to fit on my 2100 soon. Will be interested to know cost in making one?

The hole centers on the filter mount are wider than the carb mount

If you guys in the states have members local that make them, I recon that will be the best bet!

As long as you pay for it. I'm assuming USPS will eventually get it there.

So the 2100 I use a 288 plastic filter neck and put a V-stack on top of that.

I think I have an 088 carb around right now. I need to know how much stud sticks out from the carb when mounted so I know how far to recess the counter bores.

2.5 inches on mine to end of studs, studs have 1/2 of thread on the ends. That snorkel kind of messes stuff up. Maybe a 2.5" round stock, 2-2.5" long, make like a normal cylinder style stack, and then where it blocks the snorkel, grind down so that a tube can fit over the snorkel, run tube along top of snorkel and stuff open end of tube inside foam filter???
