Universal 2 stroke oil for all ratios, opinions?

The great oil debate once more and I nearly missed the festivites .------I think they all work possibley though not using 90WT gear oil at 16 to to 1 .However if you could get it started you could fog for mosquites at the same time .That comment of choking the thing at WOT I actually did but not with the choke .Shut it down at WOT at around 15,000 RPM and hydra locked that modified 038 mag tighter than a bulls azz at fly time .Not really a good thing to do IMO. if you intend on starting it again in the next hour .

Another oil thread, lol. This one’s a little different tho. I’m wondering what everyone has to say about this video? Would be nice to get my 4 2 cycle gas cans down to 1 or 2 tho. I still currently use lawn boy 2 stroke oil to the correct ratio for 16:1, 32:1, and 40:1. And I use Husqvarna 2 stroke oil in all my 50:1 equipment. Do you guys think I should start using oil like this in everything? Do any of you already?

That is 2 cycle/stroke oil just like the other 2 cycle/stroke oils that are designed to work with outdoor power equipment. From my 19 years in commercial lawn care and 10 years in parks and recreation grounds maintenance I see no reason why multiple oils could not be used universally. One oil that I liked a lot was Penzoil multi-purpose 2 stroke oil. I used it whenever I ran out of oem oil if I could find it. I ran it at around 36:1 in everything just to be safe. I saw a video that some guy bought a gallon of it at Walmart for a song recently. I'd probably use HP2, Red Armor, or Saber at 45:1 in everything except maybe outboard motors. They, to me, are premium oils.

Just muffler modded and timing advanced an ms 362 for a guy at work that logs on the side and I know how people despise ultra but he has at least 60-70 gallons of gas through the saw and it was clean inside. No carbon anywhere piston exhaust port nothing, actually had nice film of oil on piston and all machine marks there still. While I was doing that he had the urge to try a 400 so I let him borrow my stump shot 400 to try with a can of 40:1 saber mix he commented on the weird smell it had yesterday. We all have different senses when it comes to smell I guess because him an I never noticed ultra smelling bad. I hadn’t got to run any saber because after mixing my dad robbed my saw the brush cutter and my gas for the shack so I’ll need to run some when I get it back to see if the saber stinks.

To me, Ultra stinks. I used to love the old Quicksilver Formula 2 on the water, and one day I got a good whiff of Ultra and said "no more". That stuff runs dirty in my 4-mix engines and smells bad. Never again. I'll try 100 different oils before going back to Ultra. Oh, Saber smells pretty good.

In lawn boys you really need to run an ashless marine tcw3 marine oil. Most universal products are indeed marine oils and they suck in air cooled OPE besides Lawnboys.

The smell of Lawn Boy exhaust and freshly mowed grass is just heavenly and probably addictive.
