That's not as dirty as I imagined...
Talking about your underwear again?

Now the issue lies within the crank.
Even if I can straighten those threads out, still gonna have to contend with the rust pits on the flywheel taper and the bearing journals on the PTO side.

Problem with the one(s) I got here, someone else dismantled them.
So in reality, I have no g-damn clue what's missing, what goes where or how they came apart.
I will say, that what I have here in boxes has been riden hard and put away wet.

The parts list that Heath originally posted is what I KNOW needs to be replaced. That doesn't include all the little small stuff like fuel hoses, air filter(s), primer bulb, deco valve, carb kit or complete carburetor etc....

I notice in one of your pictures Bill, that there is a Cross bearing "kit" with 3 bearings. I have no clue where that 3rd bearing goes.

Lastly, a local member @rb440 recently rebuilt a 420 for a relative. He used mostly all AM parts and has had nothing but issues. As a matter of fact, I believe the saw is still not running correctly.

I'm Not the Someone else, although I do know them.

How well does a USC do with concrete junk?

What chemical do you use in it?

Have not tried an USC for concrete yet, try actively not to work on demo saws. I just know that a pressure washer works very well and figured it was worth a shot. I use water and just enough concentrated Simple Green to turn the fluid pine green.

I don't think a USC is gonna get that concrete off. What you have to worry about in the crank is the bearing journals and especially the big end bearing.

I would not use that. It's more than likely junk. I've done many of these saws, mostly pre-strato ts400's and I've always used either Tecomec, Hyway, Farmer Tec or no name Chinese parts.

You need a better project saw... they are not hard to find. Usually dealers have piles...

We've got a Stihl TS420, & trying to decide the best path forward.

It needs:
1. Cylinder
2. Piston
3. Seals
4. Gasket Set
5. New lines

The Case will soon be split, & will determine if it's worth repairing based on the condition of the Crank.

Does anyone have the above itemS in useable condition they would part with?

Thank You.
Let me dig this weekend. Pretty sure I have seals and a jug at the minimum if its your saw. If it is a flipper or customer always go new top end. I've done so many of the stupid things...

How ya been? Haven't heard from you in a while.

Carbs normally clean up with brake cleaner or elbow grease in the parts washer. Chicom carbs generally blow for the 420s. Check for shaft wear in the carb body.

No worries... it's just a squeal... nothing too critical. A K750 ... now that is a SAW!
