This 30" ash uprooted itself so I took the opportunity to have some fun. Forgot to take a before pic. On a fairly steep incline, so just getting footing was a challenge. Did get the saw pinched when one of the limbs closed to the inside which I didn't anticipate. Will try to pull the remaining limbs down with a tractor. Will buck and hand split it right here. Curious to see how much it it will amount to.

Felled about 14 ash today, nicest ground I’ve worked in a looooong time.
Everything hinged when I wanted it to, swung when I wanted it to, no one and nothing hurt.
Great day

A pig of a spruce.
Only about 60 feet tall but 4 feet wide and twin stemmed.

Felled it into the apex of medium and low voltage power lines.
You can trust spruce to go where you want.

3 of us had it all cut up and chipped in under 2 hours.
We cut the trunk into lengths and the heaviest branches into firewood.
There was a 13 ton excavator there to help.
