404 RS out of the box, was pretty tough imho. Square filing it must have smoothed it out.Full comp should be smoother.
I think it all depends on what type of wood ur cutting, I personally like semi skip. In my experience it works great in all types of wood. Less cutters to file, it’s fast and fairly smooth in hardwoods. What are the benefits of Full Comp or Skip? When do you use each?
Oh yea, been running semi skip square 3/8 on 32” a while. Really like that setup.Semi skip is great on 105 dl and up
When I ran the new rs I was thinking, felling would impossible with this chain. It was much better after square filing it.404 rs out of the box is pretty rough, the rakers are way low. I have a new 20" 404 chain that I converted to square. But it still has a lot of the round hook.
It will pull the life out of a saw with an 8 pin
