I would go give it a whiff but my head is so stuffed up right now that I can't even Snell my own farts. I'll run a fresh split tomorrow and have my boy Smell it, what are we smelling for? I don't recall it having a bad odor. What does it smell like?
Almost positive is Redbud after finding similar trees with the small pods still attached. We have lots of them around, just never cut one before and wasn't smart enough to put two and two together. Thank you for the help! Not a curve ball at all, and probably what you got.
This is Honey Locust.

These are rounds from a Honey locust tree. Wood is pink with robust white cambium layer under the bark.
Not to be confused with Black locust, which has a yellowish color and does not rot like the Honey locust does.
Yes.It's got a mulberry tree next to it that apparently makes fruit. Is it possible that this is a non fruit producing Mulberry?
Mulberry..
Buds look like Elm, splits similar to Elm, but it yellow as all get out. It's got a heady smell, not bad but noticeable.
Walnut on the left ,Hick on rt.Two separate trees.
1- Bitternut Hickory? Solid as a rock, similar to locust. Heavier than Walnut of similar size.
Really bad attempt at bud picture
Rounds on right.
