Now with my glasses on, it does look like white oak. Flaky bark.
Love the dog. Camouflaged right in with the wood! Lol

It’s not red oak, it has a very yellow outer ring kind of heavy for its size but it is freshly cut. It is also not a fruit tree.

I cut a red oak that looked like that. See if I can dig up a pic. I think the red oak had a disease. The two pieces on the bottom right. Yellow outer ring, red in the center.

Gotta be Osage Orange ( Hedge) or Mullberry. The inside wood looks very much like our Mullberry, the bark not so much. That's guess.
