Is there some government regulatory cause that is jacking your prices on parts?? What better way to take those old "polluting" saws out of circulation than to make it cost prohibitive to keep them in repair
there is no goverment regulation on chainsaws here.
We have regulation on cars, but not on farmer equipment.

Those are some stick up prices there Tor, I wondered though how a Husqvarna cylinder kit can costs less than just the piston alone for the same saw? It makes no good sense whatsoever.
I agree, when Husky dropped the price of top end kits most people thought a piston would drop also.
I dont know if those (new) prices is from Husky Norway or its because AK Maskin struggling economic, either way its not good for any of them.
Your guys has a few places with public prices, would be wonderful if we had a bit of the same in Norway, at least we would not get a shock like I got today :D

Very strange... Take Brewz and our other neighbors in Australia, the prices he says OEM parts are there make anything beyond the most basic maintenance on a saw very cost prohibitive. It surely gives one cause to scratch his head...

I thought we had retail price system in Norway but I was wrong.
Husky Norway wasnt super happy when I got their retail price and they realized afterward why :D
Double checked with my main dealer (who is 3 hour drive away) and those retail prices where spot on, no secret that I will take the drive for small batch from now on.

Here is a list of what I bought, AK Maskin price vs recommended price from Husky:

5 x 501809801, 1.67$ for each vs 1.67$ for each
2 x 581756201, 11.51$ for each vs 7.33$ for each
2 x 503443201, 11.51$ for each vs 7.09 for each
3 x 501862103, 8.71$ for each vs 4.30$ for each
3 x 501862502, 8.71$ for each vs 2.44$ for each
2 x 503521201, 28.92$ for each vs 4.42$ for each
1 x 591623301, 7.26$ for each vs 1.63$ for each
3 x 731231801, 8.71$ for each vs 3.05$ for each
2 x 504043501, 7.26$ for each vs 1.74$ for each
1 x 503667003, 28.92$ for each vs 2.91$ for each

And yeah, I've send one mail to AK Maskin and asked them for one explanation, I will survive no mather what, but there comes people after me, and no on should experience those insane prices.

Yeah now that you explain things a little more, it does smell alot like price gouging. Lack of competition a factor perhaps????

FWIW on another site there are few members who live in Australia that often another member will ship them repair parts from the USA .Small packages to Australia take 4 days by US airmail and are not that costly .From where I'm at it's three days over land to south Florida or the PNW .

I didnt knew all the details yesterday, I've bought for ruffly 3500$ in parts last year hence why I knew that there was something weird going on.

For all I knew it could be Husky who had jacked the prices up (not the first time) so I called them today and got the retail prices (Huskies recommended sale prices).

When the Husky lady realized what it really was about she said: OMG, I should not given you the prices!!
I said,: so your guys are comfortable that the biggest Husky chain in Norway multiply the prices up to 10 time and screw over the majority of your customers?
She said: no I dont like what I heard, but I dont want trouble.

I called my normal dealer and got the prices later, that was before the mail went to AK Maskiner.
