The saw puked another Meteor cylinder in the exact same way as the one before. This time the piston and cylinder both went in the trash. I replaced the top end with a brand new OEM cylinder kit I acquired recently. Big difference now in compression (more) , can feel it when starting. Runs great. Only downside is now I have to heli-coil the left side M5 screw for the muffler/case. Finally wore it out. Saw runs terrific though. Have just under a tank run thru it and it hasn’t hiccuped once. Me fingers are crossed.Vids please. Weird.
Other way around...
Red lever were the earlier saws, before the EPA started telling the manufacturers how to build their saws
I have seen the 028 super with some having the super in red letters and some in black letters. I never thought to see if the color of the letters corresponded to the lever color. Guess I'll have to Google some pics.I think the red lever saws of any Stihl model were pre EPA. They generally had better port timing numbers and a tick more power. Maybe slightly higher compression. These are for all stock OEM saws.

That answers my question. I had read that the ones with red letters were more desirable but I can't find that info on why. CRS.the one I am looking at has red lever and black letters
I think mine was around 45 euro but that was awhile ago, maybe Dan can remember @AlfA01
Don't know what the exchange rate is, but they're ridiculous in the states...
Good catch! Appears to be the bearing surface for the adjuster. Perfect
Appears to fit here.
To keep bar adjuster aligned I suppose. [emoji3166]
