Yes I feel sure it will grow on me, I also like the advantages offered with a full wrap.
The saw wouldn't have a cult like following if it didn't have many great attributes, perhaps I just expected to much based on the hype and only need to give it time to also become one of my many favorite's.
Porting would probably put it over the top...
Is it New ? ...20 " Max bar and they do fine once run in i feel ...18" and they feel overall more nimble IMO. We tend to run shorter bars in general to the spec given in the US.

:D:D ..Will look out for that when i try the saw !
All iv done is start it and warmed it for 30 seconds then re started it.
With the 24" bar/3/8 1.5mm chain and 1/2 tank of oil it came in at 19.4 lb , not bad i thought.

The 7910 felt like a toy compared too most of the old beasts I got here :)

I'd love to get a spare of that style of sticker for my PS-6400 & PS-7900!
These are the original sticker version!
Do You possibly have a spare to sell me?

The new versions that are available look like the one @ajschainsaws posted.
They are easy to come by from any Dolmar dealer.
The part number for the sticker ajschainsaws posted is: 980 115 676

Are these numbers any good
980.115.672. €1.57
980.116.004 €1.07
+ postage

I got that picture from a thread on this site where someone was selling them. I like how the word "Dolmar" is more prominent in these along with the crosshatch design.

The only decal I can get in that style is for the PS-6800I

What's the build date on yours? I know my later one ran much better out of the box than the first one. First one ran in quite well though. And you need to watch the monkey's videos of the latest ported 6100's.

Ahhhh ...the nostalgia trip ! :)..Eeeeee lad , I remember when saws were made of girders ...if they wouldn't start then we hit the tree over with them:D.
The 7910 remains spotless by the way .

Whats you first choice then Ross ?

For stuff with size my Jonsered 2186(Husky 385) that's been to Zoo City. Maybe now the Shindaiwa 757(that's had bits and pieces to Zoo City). In big hardwood with bigger bars there's no replacement for displacement.

Like new I guess you could say, less than 10 tanks. And yes 20" bar, but my opinion is not based on the bar or not even completely on performance.
Its more of a " how it feels in my hands thing" ergonomics if you will.
Then somewhat lackluster performance, but that can be improved, so primarily ergonomics. It may grow to be my favorite, who knows...

I don't have it in front of me, but I am fairly certain that it's a late 2015 build . I am an old drag racer, so I tend to lean towards having more saw/horse power than necessary. Its no 288 or 7910 or even a 6401, but the performance isn't my primary complaint, the ergonomics are...

Might as well have the right size tool for the sort of timber your into .

I got a 6100 because of how much I like my 5105, but feel the same as some of you. Kind of lackluster in performance and not the best feel to it. I guess it's nice to have options and I'm not a snob to any one particular brand.

First Ps-35 iv had in ..usually start at Ps-420. This is real nice in the smaller timber and feels typically more grunty than the 2.3 ish hp would have you think..(HP ,same as the new Mak/Dol 3601 by the way) . 11.4 lb ..including .. 1/2 a tank of oil..14" 3/8 lp bar and .050(1.3mm) chain. Ps 420 power head along side for some scale.

Hmm, Fichtel & Sachs and Dolmar have long parted ways, but I have Sachs clutches in two of my vehicles and a Dolmar 5105. So, I guess you could say I'm a Sachs-Dolmar fan!

Btw, Sachs clutches are really good and don't cost alot.

Unless You have a source of NOS stickers You will get these when purchasing part number 980 115 672:
Dolmar PS-7900.JPG
The original "old" sticker is NLA from Dolmar Germany (I buy my stuff from them).

Part number 980 116 004 is the clutch cover sticker of the Dolmar PS-64xx/73xx/79xx:
Dolmar long.JPG

As You can see I have both these stickers/decals, but thank You for Your offer. :)
Your prices are retail and acceptable.
