Cleared and cleaned my workspace and got a second bucking session.
The rounds in this and the previous post are one tank of fuel worth.
I really love my PS-550, well mannered, good power, high torque, extremely good fuel economy.

I have a dolmar ps6100 with a stuck clutch drum...can't get it to come off. Any ideas on what to do. The sucker won't budge with pliers on it. My apologies if I posted this in the wrong section.

Usually whenever that happens to me I fight it for 5-10 minutes before I smack myself in the face and pull the chain brake handle back so it unlocks. Or I just fight it with vise grips/channellocks until it comes off.

Chain brake removed, so it's not that unfortunately. I've had the vice grips on it and can't get the $%@@ to even budge. Not sure what to do.

Check that...got it off with violence...busted spring is the problem. Find a spring or entire clutch aseembly is the best?

Go with a complete new clutch and drum set!
Not too expensive and the old parts held up 7 years.
After a lockup like that I wouldn't trust the old clutch parts nor the old drum.

Thank you....that's a lot of saws you have.
I see at least 2 versions of the clutch assembly available. Is there a preferred one? Also is there a preferred parts person from this site I should contact that will ship to Canada?

There shouldn't be multiple part numbers other than old and new ones.
Although, the same clutch is used on multiple models (PS-420, EA4300, PS-5105, EA5000, PS-550, EA5600, PS-6100, EA6100, ...)

Look for these part numbers:
127443-2 - clutch
144765-5 - drum with needle bearing
267389-1 - washer that goes under the clutch (between oil pump drive & clutch)
181224090 - washer that goes between the clutch & drum


The drum got expensive, everything else is affordable.

Just a newbie question....I ordered the clutch and drum as well as 3 new springs. Can I replace the spring without removing the clutch? I think I would need to "hook" the new spring from the topside vs the factory underside configuration. I don't think it results in any clearance differences? Just thought I would ask if it's an option...or just pull the old clutch, install the new clutch and be done with it. Repair the old clutch and keep it as backup in the future. Saw is 2014 with approximately 50 cord cut with it. (5x 128cuft cord a year)

Don't know about the spring, I'd have to look at my saws to get an idea/picture of it.
I know You'll have to persuade that new spring "to get in there" with a bunch of swear words though!

You just double check that nothing got bent when that spring broke.
You also don't want any remaining pieces of the spring to jam in between the clutch and any other parts.
The oil pump & oil pump driver are under the clutch.

I can't get a picture to upload for some reason. My saw definitely has the spring mounted opposite to your pictures. It has the same clutch as your first picture, the only difference is that my clutch has a stamp saying 175 on it vs yours with the 195 marking. As far as I know the clutch has never been tinkered with, I bought the saw brand new in 2014. I will look for the spring end that broke off before attempting any repair without removing the clutch.
I appreciate your help with this.
