Im sure it should have one from factory. Dolmar prt----024 173 081.
The number may have changed to a Makita number in the US but i still found it listed on the above number.
I’ve got the carb cover with the summer/winter screw and when you take off the cover you see the air filter. It’s a 2015 build.

The older and newer saws are all the same when it comes to the winter /summer setting function .When all assembled the air is taken from the front section of the hood if you rotate the arrowed cylinder. Your saw will have ,had and should have the pre filter under the small side cover to be as it was from factory .
This IPL shows all the parts we have been talking about ..only shown difference is the addition of a decomp fitting that not all saws have.

Ahhh. Thank you.
I wonder if the reed valve setup would make that saw even stronger?

Thanks, I’ll look better tonight when I have time. Mine has decomp.

Here’s a pic of the filter cover inside and what the carb/air filter box looks like when I take the cover off. Where should I be looking?

I got my first Dolmar in Makita blue just over a month ago. 6401. It was stock. 64cc top end is in great shape. So far I have just done a MM. Got a good deal on a Tsumura 22” bar to put on it. The muffler I heated the crimp, cut the inner baffle out. Put back together and added an extra outlet using a Husky 288XP deflector.

Spares for Dolmar PS5105?

Lately it seems I have been cutting every weekend (see a few pages back, the hollowed-out cherry I dropped). This weekend I cleared up some storm damage at my place and then went off to my brother's to do the same. And all this is in the middle of the summer -- the fall/winter Nor'easter season isn't even upon us yet.

I got to thinking today that I should get a couple of spare items for my PS5105 -- although I have a second bar and a quartet of chain loops, I feel the need some trivial little things.

What spark plug are you guys running on your PS5105's? (OEM part = Dolmar 965 603 021)
Are you using the OEM Makita/Dolmar ring sprocket, or the Oregon Power Mate equivalent, or "other"? (OEM part for 3/8" pitch = Dolmar 026 224 010)
Anything other little parts you can think of that will randomly wear out/fail in the middle of the winter when I need the saw?

Thanks

Does anyone know of a clutch removal tool that could cross reference from one manufacture to a Dolkita 64xx/79xx? The Echo tool I have works on all 3 of my Echo models, I haven’t got around to see if it will work on the Dolkitas. If I remember correctly the Dolkita tool is kinda pricey. Just checking because if I ever need one I’ld rather have one here rather than waiting for one to be shipped. Thanks.

I just ordered a 590 clutch tool for 10 bucks from Nate cuz after a little filing on the pins it'll fit the Dolkita 4300, 5105, 6100. And will save me 54 bucks.

I have no idea if this could work for the bigger saws.

I have the 590 tool and it works on all my Echo, have to take the time to see if it will work on 64/79 Dolkita. I’m like you, that Dolkita tool is pricey.
