I know some guys say but you don’t need spikes if your chain is good... some situations like felling cuts you have no option but to use them. I like resting the saw spikes on the log. Less effort wasted. Pulpwood... small trees... you don’t really need them however.
I think the bottom tooth being too long and pointed down ward is what aggravated me. Too much leverage on hardwood trees.
The lower tooth helps the saw not to tip over with a long bar.
The large spikes also come handy when fully utilizing a long bar, gives greater leverage.
Bucking medium and small sized logs the large size spikes just get in the way.
The 3-point spikes are the best balance for bucking logs, felling and flush cutting stumps.

Thanks Wilhelm. Nice collection there.
Those are older pictures, they don't include my PS-7300.
I will have to arrange a photo shoot session once my new to me PS-550 comes in - any day now.

Lots of little changes between early and late model saws, no different than other manufacturers, but everything seems to interchange. They are easier to work on than a 372 or 440/460 IMHO.

The only things I don’t like is the stupid metal chain catcher, the coil wire behind the flywheel just makes it harder to get at and I’m not a fan of needing a clutch tool. Other than that they are awesome saws.

I have and can get only the rubber stickers, the older version stickers are NLA!
I'll figure out envelope shipping cost and we can go from there.

Are You interested to trade for a set of small EU spikes?
Just asking as I happen to like the US style 1 Star Trek spikes the most.

If You want the large spikes any Dolmar/Makita dealer can get them for You.

Well I will try and get a new sticker here in the states first, if I can I won't have to take yours.

I'd trade if you had the west coast version for sure.

The star trek ones are awesome because they are large enough to stick in big wood/bark, protect the muffler and yet they don’t stall the saw as easily as some “west coast” spikes on some other saws. The newly acquired 6421 I have here has the new large dawgs, they look cool... but I ain’t so sure if I’m gonna like em. I guess I’ll find out.

I smell a trade? What do you say
