Thinking about 'turning' up my Dolmar 5105. I'm running a bone stock 2013 version with a non-cat muffler. I'm open to porting but don't have the capability to do lathe work.

Any suggestions or success stories?

That's my standard, plus port cleanup. I'm going to measure up the squish and see where it is at the moment.

I was talking with a member and he was now passing over his 6100 to grab his Miller Mod Saws 5105 cuz it's that badazz.

T4 driller has a lot of time into building this one for me, I feel like my 5105 and 7910 are probably the only saws I would ever need honestly, still excited about a certain jred this week though.

That's an option. I'm wondering how many degrees and what type of flywheel key this thing has. Looks like a teardown is it's near future.

I had a lot of expenses, and extra expenditures (MMWS 372 cylinder) this month, so I'm doing homegrown mods on this one.

It seems like a great little saw. I was really impressed with my 421, so I decided that I would really like a 50cc version. My assumption was correct, I really like this saw. It definitely has a ton of pros and very few cons. I love everything about it and only dislike two things--the small bar oil cap and the fact that it doesn't sit stable. It needs a longer inner felling spike to act as a kickstand, otherwise it rocks around just enough to annoy you. Other than that it's a terrific little saw.

Base gasket delete is a big no go on this saw. Well, without cutting the squish band it is. I just measured it out at .8mm squish with the base gasket installed and the base gasket measures .9mm. That means the piston will hit the head.

Installed the cylinder and torqued it without the base gasket and sure enough it hits and won't make a full crank rotation.

I'd like to keep my squish at .6mm or around .023. At least a .020 would make me feel warm and fuzzy. So, if I could get a hold of a base gasket that was .6 to .7mm I'd be in there enough to raise the compression a bit and keep a safe distance between the slug and the head.

Buy some gasket material at a scootershop. 0,25 and 0,50 mm exist.
