You're supposed to be on top of these things before everyone else...
Well, after running a couple hundred 500i and everyone talking about how much of a racehorse they are, and then realizing it runs very similar to a 7900 or 461, I’m not quite on the wagon yet when they are saying the 564 runs like a 572. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that it runs just about identical to a 562

I’m all for advancements, so don’t get me wrong. Everyone looks at this fuel injection like it’s magic and it’s going to do for chainsaws what it did for vehicles. The problem is that it’s still injected into the intake port and has to go down into the bottom end and then back up. It’s very similar tech to early throttlebody injection of the 80’s. But even then there were intake and exhaust sensors, but there are none in a chainsaw.

I tend to try to go into things with low expectations so that if I am surprised, it’s for the better

That's my attitude. I ran a buddy's stock 500i and it was like, meh. A well-tuned 046, 7900, 372XPW, or 681 will do just as much work in the hands of a skilled operator. Given the hot-start issues a lot of people are having, I'll stick with my old saws.

I’m getting one but highly doubt it’ll run as good as a 572 and don’t expect it too. I’m more intrigued by the physical size and supposed to be a little lighter than a 562. So after porting and doing the muffler and it’s close to a muff modded 572 I’ll be happy. It’s claimed to be 5.4 hp, so it should be noticeably better than a 562. They’ve been pretty lenient with their ratings so I suspect it should be better than the 562’s

I was the same when I ran them, they’re good but not life shattering like all the claim is with them.

Saws can be fickle that way, some feel like they are cutting more than they really are and some act like they aren't doing much at all, when they are really cutting great.
From the little bits and pieces of pre-view I've seen, it would "appear" that other than the fuel delivery system the 564xp is "styled" much like the 592xp. If this indeed is the case, then maybe good things can be expected from it, maybe that's wishful thinking if nothing else. One thing for sure, it has a lot of people's attention.

The 564xp should equal or best a 572xp sporting a 20” bar - the hp difference is negligible however the weight difference is quite a bit. Mine should be here shortly

The cylinder reminds me of a 592
