I learned something thanks to this thread. Listening to some bluegrass music that Mastermind posted on page one of this thread. Something sounded familiar about bluegrass but i've had listened to bluegrass before. The bluegrass had some similarities (to me anyways) of some Flogging Molly songs that I enjoy. I googled it the possible connection between traditional Irish music and bluegrass and found this:
