I hear you and completely understand.
I was merely mentioning it in passing.
Much more competitive these days.
I know you and many others have been very generous in the past. And I completely understand your feelings...

When I think back on all the threads I've done.......and the way it all ended up, I wish I'd have been mute. It was a waste of my time.....and time is precious.

That's unfortunate that you feel that way. Probably means nothing, but I gleaned a lot from your 346xp thread.

I don't have any secrets. Nothing any of us are doing is unique or special.

Having to mount a defense of why you do what you do the way you do it got old years ago.......and I actually thought we all left that behind when we moved away from AS. But.....it followed.

So......I'll just be here doing my little thing, minding my own business.

Hey man, no hard feelings. I wasn’t jumping on you and sorry you felt you had to “mount a defense” when all I did was ask a question. I’ll leave you alone to keep playing with your little thing. [emoji2]

Yes sir...It really is kind of sad.
Maybe make threads only available to original poster? No commenting. Would make threads much cleaner and easier to follow. Just thinking outloud...

The reason I did so many threads was because finding detailed information about setting up a degree wheel and other stuff was impossible for me to find when I first got interested in modding saws. There were a few guys that did threads, but the details that really mattered to me were missing. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the whole forum experience.

I know a fella that has a plan for that...

Thanks for reminding me why I stopped doing build threads.

I don't want to speak for the poster, but I personally didn't read the post with a "wtf, you're doing it wrong" tone. To me it read as just conversation from someone interested. It's hard tho tho when we have the letters and words to read a comment, but not the tone and inflection with which to judge the poster's intent. Unfortunately, a lot of people assume malicious intent.

I understand why you and many others stopped doing build threads. As you've said before, the unnecessary/ignorant criticisms/questioning of methods that some people post can be a major buzzkill.

Please don't take this as a shot at at you Randy, I've got nothing but respect for you and the other builders/porters on here. It just sucks that these days a handful of vocal idiots with a public platform can take the joy out of almost anything and make everyone suffer.

Rant over....I need a beer or two. Midnight shift is a beyotch.

And yours and others detailed threads is what got me interested in this stuff. Brother, you and the other guys on here have a knack for this stuff. I for one enjoy reading about all the minutiae that goes into a successful build.

Mark my words. Social media will be the downfall of our great nation.

I apologize if I misunderstood. At one time there were a few guys that lived to make my life a living hell because I chose to share this stuff online. It changed me......and to be honest, I'll never be the same.
