I'm starting to get better at using this off-road truck's log grappler after only a week's work. I'm used to using excavator joysticks and this thing uses 4 levers using finger control.
Been putting on a couple hundred kilometres driving to site to site and Loading transport trucks.
Iam a bit of a relic myself I like older simple stronger stuff it just seems like a machine that's there when needed and does it bit and has paid for its self time and time again
Iam probably wrong and it could a complete white elephant that wouldn't pull granny off a p### pot
Where everybody knows your name,
and their always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same.

Ajschainsaws: the log machine has been good so far other than the contact of human fingers to mechanical fingers.
The truck itself has had some issues with overheating (fixed) low engine oil pressure (fixed once overheating issue solved) and a power steering hose blowing (fixed)
This truck is a rental so how it's maintained is questionable but I do see that it's been greased and not sloppy feeling. So maybe just bad luck for us.
But I'd like to have a truck like that myself.
The reliability of a mechanical 3406b cat along with double frame, heavy duty Rockwell transport truck axles, floatation tires on all 6 wheels. Maybe have a 6x6 instead of just the rear drives.
I'd settle for the joystick style controls for the log machine though.
