You mean north Oregon? IDK...
But DB Cooper parachuted down in Oregon for sure. There was a military guy that did the same... probably in the '90s and got sold out by his cop golf friend.
He demanded five parachutes knowing the cops would put tracers in them. I believe he had his own? That chits a rush.
They retrieved the money with only $5.00 out of half a million. They think he may have been DB Cooper?

They claim he did up here in the northern part possibly around Ariel Washington.

I have been over the top overreacted and been an idiot and a hundred other bad things on saw sites...and that was just last night.
Seriously though, I have overreacted to people's work that they have shared in a pretty non tactful ways that I do regret. My heart was in the right place. I just didn't want to see them get hurt. Nobody should be dressed down that's for sure.

There is intellectual levels to life, there is levels to Pro fighting and there is levels to Timber Falling. It's a treat to see you guys'es results. Not only do you show a variety, you REALLY show your skills. Not many BC Cedar country Coast Fallers can be that accurate. You don't have to be that accurate but merry up their cuts. Some guys do first growth selective, but 85% would fail. They would fail in that small stuff also. Slanted cuts, *s-word work. I have seen it. No matter what your belief in about one's own skills about threading the needle between trees...you can have 60 ft between trees with 160ft hemlock snag in a bad spot and your knees are numb after 5 hours into a wet day. It's amazing how your how fast your won't pull the trigger when you are going 'all in' on the ultimate gamble. I have quit a few times before the day was through and everyone quit with me. As they say in the boxing world:
Quit to fight another day.
There are certainly times when your head is not in the game, and you need to take 5 or go home. Keeping your focus on the job is definitely key to safety. And when you’re dealing with someone’s safety and life, you’re right, you can’t beat around the bush much.
Thanks again for the good words. I’ve always tried equally hard to do my best regardless of the timber size. I find they all have their own challenges. Old growth, second growth, flat ground, steep ground, etc. I’ve learned some things from cutters here, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, etc., and I’m glad I have. It has always amazed me how different things can be done, yet still bring the same final result. Although I will stick with the full-wrap saws, lol.

Doing between 3 to 5 acres a day lots of pulp with a saw log here and there that needs to come out for a row tree or something that has bad defect.

Well written man. It would be cool to try west coast logging for a day. I’m sure I would be as useless as a pig with lipstick lol. Likewise it would be cool to have you westcoasters try east coast logging. Be funny to see your reaction when you cut a shagbark hickory for the first time. Really neat how different ways are needed to put different types of wood on the ground depending on the location, the terrain and climate differences as well. Different equipment and lots of other things too. I respect all kinds of logging and I’d like to think most all loggers have mutual respect.

A hard leaning basswood with a half worn out bar would do it too!

Do you think you guys will end up on Level 3 this week?

I certainly wouldn’t be surprised. It’s supposed to cool down a little bit after this hot spell. Hopefully they keep that into account. But I’m halfway expecting it.
