My personal preference is .325 on the 261 with a cannon super mini

Thats what i was leaning towards. Let me check on funds and see if i can swing it.

the website says the mini S1-18-.050-.325 is in stock, but the super S1-20-.050-3/8 is out of stock. would like to save on shipping but if not, no big deal at all i completely understand. I enjoy supporting the small shops either way.

on the farm we cut mostly oak, hickory and ash (now with the ash borer its almost 100% ash as every single one is dead) but is the .050 enough to oil a 20" bar on a mmws 044?

Ok i would say bring the supermini for sure, let me check on the super for dads. If you can get it in stock i would say probably bring it but will let you know for sure.

Thanks again, i appreciate the help.

@Icepick69 you can advertise in your signature for 15.00 a month.

No worries on posting links to your site though. I'm just letting you know that advertising in your signature is cheap, and very effective.
I sure will, can you show me how Saturday. I'm new at this

Mike Lee,

This off the roll, 30 minutes to touch up chain, Race is gaining attention.

Let's iron out the details.

1. When:
Saturday Morning, between 0900-1100. More details to follow.

2. All chains will come off the same roll. Each individual will have 10,15,or 30 mins to dress up said chain.

3. Bar Length-?
4. Chain Pitch-?
5. Chain Gauge-?

I think whoever runs should pay for
That chain, (by the link), so the original purchaser isn't out a bunch of chain.

Let's do something longer: we all know a hopped up 084 can turn a 24" bar. [emoji41]

What else Mike?
I don't know. Just have to decide if we have time to squeeze it in. I know I'd like to get the chain builds done before lunch so we can eat and slow down some of the operators for the racing:tongue:

My dealer does have a nice 25" Windsor NOS 14mm mount bar on the wall I've been eyeing.

24" is at home on a Ported 44.

So,

Let's get the "Official" races out of the way, eat lunch, and lazily prepare for the long bar Unofficial pull.

if I make it. we could use my cannon 36" s1 (stihl medium mount). I have 3/8ths or 404 tip for it.

if any large saws obviously they'd have to agree on a 36" large mount bar to use.

in .404 I have a roll of Stihl RS
in 3/8ths I have Stihl RSLH (square semi skip) I'd prefer to use this stuff over oregon as my chain sharpening skills aren't that great. IMO oregon isn't that fast off the roll.
I won't use my files on stihl chain. Not going to kill a new file for that junk. Oregon is much smoother out of the box as well. Oregon would see more gains as well.

Someone is bringing a square grinder to the GTG Mike, a RZ2, I think I heard.

Dave is bringing one to sail. I can't remember if someone else was bringing another one to play with. Too many replies to dig through.

the stihl rslh is square ground. you'd just have to touch it up. how much is a file?
$12. I hate the angles on the stihl. Too blunt. I've quit buying it now and going back to all Oregon. I sent a few of the loops to Icepick to grind and maybe he can bring them back Saturday.

are you doing the long bar race? all the long bar racers except me want to use oregon is that correct?
No clue. Longest bar I have any good chains for is 28" 3/8". All the 110 dl are skip now I've been milling with.

We will locate a loop of Oregon chain for you.

I've got a spare 36" in both mid & large mount,( at your house) [emoji41].

You guys can use up the roll of semi skip stihl. I just don't know if I'll spend the time to file one once.

all the oregon I tested was waay slow out of the box. Don't have the filing skills you guys have. So I'll pass.

Slow down Hot Rod.

Mike & I are discussing using a grinder on off the roll chain so everyone has the same chain, & it's a saw race, & not a chain race that Matt & Mike win. [emoji1303]
