I got a used Walbro WS14 for a project off evilbay today.

While examining it (OK, I was playing with it.), I noticed the throttle shaft was loose.

Can one imagine what would happen if the throttle plate screw was sucked in at speed? Yikes!

Planned to rebuild it anyway for my 048.

That would have been a new cyl. and piston if it would have been ingested

Throttle return spring missing off the shaft.

I suppose someone needed it for another carb. I rarely remove the shaft as it is not necessary.

I can! I can!

Sold a PP260. Guy worked it hard on 20" rounds. Said choke got harder and harder to engage. He heard a big noise and saw stopped.

Screw must have come loose. Pulling hard on choke lever broke choke rod and screw went SWOOOSH.

I had a 044 that digested/ingested a carb nut some how. It sounded like a machine gun in the saw. Took out the piston. I was dumb enough at that time I just went with a nwp big bore kit instead of a new piston and saving the cylinder. That was the worst mistake I made is when I went with an AM big bore kit.

Another example of what can go wrong:

Skirt is a "little" thin.

Clearance was .070" in the cylinder it came with. Yikes!
