My pump is fine but the float switch works intermittently. Is the switch rebuildable or do I have to buy a new one?

Where's the switch? Is it the one that slides up and down?

I've had issues with mine twice. It just needed repositioned and re-zip tied. I should get a stainless tie. Is yours secured correctly? Replacements are cheap btw, the unit is sealed so i don't believe you can get inside without breakage.

Often it just needs retied in a better position. But they are a sealed unit and cheap enough. It's just a rolling ball that makes the connection in there. So it needs to get vertical enough for it to roll. The old ones were mercury and more reliable.

Thanks all. For $27 I'll just replace it. It must be at least 15 years old. It's at a rental house that I am trying to sell quickly/cheaply.

I hate that style. It stuck on my old one. It was strait up and never came on. Had an inch of water in basement from it. I just touched it and the ball thing inside made conection and started working. I went that day and baught a battery back up and shortly after switched to a columb style.

I put a basement in when i did my addition. Now looking back wish a never had. Always worry about it when it rains.
