Stripped thread repair (thread)

I’ve got a husky 385 with the rear two top cover holes stripped (hogged/wallowed) out on the case. What’s the permanent fix..(especially if jb weld doesn’t work). I guess I’m asking if a TIG welder type guy would be willing and able to repair it for me...or if that’s even the best idea

I have the ability to do both in my shop, and I’d pick timesert.

The kit is around $70 for an M5. Same for M4 and M6. Once you’ve got the kit, it will last you a lifetime.

A tig welder is gonna charge you a bunch. Besides the machine and skills involved, one length of filler rod costs around $3.

Had first knee check up after surgery on 22 he says went well have to still wear brace.says i can go back to therapy and start range of motion.cant walk on it for 4 to 6 weeks.i hope this is the end and i wont have pain when i walk.had to add an acl never could find it.miniscus was tore and flipped oymut upside down.he trimmed it and put back in and he tightened mcl that was stretched out

I really believe that once you try this solution -- you'll see why it is so frequently recommended.

My only real reluctance to try them in the first place was the diameter of one of the holes. I don’t know how it got to the size it did but it’s very large
