Anyone love this chain? I've heard raves about it so I bought my first loop it will cut but anyone have any trouble with it just being way too aggressive? I just didn't care for it I couldn't plunge cut with it at all it was literally beating my saw up trying to kick back in the cut I know after several sharpening a it will get better is this normal or did I just get an off loop? .325 .050

I run .325 .050 (23rs) on my ms260. I just got a couple new loops in December. The chains cut great for me. They cut even better after the first couple of touch ups.
I have found that even on brand new chains (stihl and Oregon) the DG arnt very precise. Some will be as high as .020 and some will be as low or lower then .025 and the cutters could be sharper. This might be partly why after a couple sharpenings and a DG adjustment the chain works a lot better.
This is just my $.02

I didn't measure the gauges chain is sharp and cuts very fast but so aggressive you couldn't plunge tip first into anything without the saw wanting to slam up and down I couldn't hold onto it ( I could honestly but it was beating the *s-word out my saw)

I use a lot of 3/8 rs. Pretty good plunge cuts when new. But if I'm bucking I usually take a few swipes off the rakers on a fresh loop

I find that when the saw does that sort of thing doing a plunge cut it is usually from either a real aggressive chain or chip clearing issues. Hopefully the chain gets better for you after a couple of sharpenings. The new .325 RS chain doesn't have much room between the cutter and the DG for chip clearing. Your problem may be caused from the combo. Luckily both issue get better as the chain gets sharpened over and over and the cutter gets shorter and the DG get adjusted.

I'm using Rapid Super .325 .063. And out of the box it was super sharp and very grabby. I cut 3 truck loads of loctus before first touch up . If you keep the angles and depth gauges correct it will get better. It is one of the best chains I've ever used. Plan on buying it for my non Stihl saws.

How in the heck are you getting three loads without sharpening? I touch my RS up every or every other tank. Had to drop the rakers on the PS3 (safety RS ) just to get it to cut hardwood.

I've had some rs .325 that way. Hit it with a file and it cut great.

I ran a couple tanks through on semi seasoned white oak it is still very sharp I'd say three pickup loads is doable never cut locust though or I don't think I have

It was still sharp when I touched it up. The Loctus I've been cutting is blow down wood. Has been down some 10 yrs and some 5 yrs. Hardly any bark. Moss covered and free of dirt and gravel. Don't let the age fool you. The stuff is still hard as a rock. Only had to hit the chain a stroke or 2. The more dirty stuff I use RM3 .325 with the Stihl. Cut 4 truck loads with it. Touched it up at the same time. Not trying to be biased but Stihl makes the best Chain. I also have 2 Oregon loops . 1 Sabre loop. 5 Tri Link loops. 1Husky Pixel. And the Stihl loops will out cut them all. The Sabre comes in 2nd.
